Publication Incentives Awardees for SY 2016-2017

Recognizing the importance of research publication as a way of communicating recent studies and findings in various field of inquiry, Ateneo de Zamboanga University through the Ateneo Research Center awarded publication incentives to selected members of the AdZU community.

For School Year 2016-2017 the following faculty members were recipients of the AdZU incentive package for publication:

Jamaica Lota – delos Reyes of the Natural Science department for her article entitled Multiplex SSR-PCR Analysis of genetic Diversity and Redundancy in the Philippine Rice (Oryza sativa L.) Germplasm Collection published in “The Philippine Journal of Crop Science”, an ISI listed Journal. She was also awarded a cash incentive of Php 20,000. 


Likewise, Teresita G. Montaño, PhD Director of ARC, has published her work in the “International Journal of Applied Chemistry” her article on Employability, Livelihood Diversity and Identity: Factors Affecting local Communities’ Social Vulnerability.

School of Education faculty, Dorothy Joann Lei O. Labrador, PhD similarly received incentives for her three articles published in a National journal with the following titles: The Good, the Bad, and the Holy: Motivation, Anxiety and Perceived Consequences in Taking High-stakes Examinations published in “The Guidance Journal”; The Relationship of Teacher Behavior with Student Engagement in School among High Ability Students published in the “Philippine Journal of Counseling Psychology”; Assessing the Relationship between Spiritual Well-being and Political Participation as Mediated by Citizenship published in the “Educational Measurement and Evaluation Review”.
The Dean of the School of Liberal Arts Robert V. Panaguiton, PhD was also awarded for his publication in a national journal “Living Flame: A Journal of Interdisciplinary Discourse in the Spirituality Discernment of the Spirit” for his article Filipino Spirituality: Towards a Discursive Reflexivity
Faculty from the School of Liberal Arts, Mr. Mark Francis Franciso and Mr. Erbert L. Medelin together with Junior High School faculty, Mr. Rovic John F. Eslao received cash gifts for their Textbook publication Historia de Zamboanga: MagaLectura.

A local artist and faculty Ms. Sandra Ma A. Jamiro likewise received the incentive for her textbook entitled Riquezas: Chavacano Essays and Studies.

The publication incentives package aims at enticing and engaging members of the AdZU community in research and continues to find its way to publication.

Eslao, faculty from the Junior High School.

The ARC congratulates the awardees and continues to call for more research publication from the AdZU community.
